Dear Emily,
THANKS for the tracing of ancestors & their genealogical antics between RHODRI MAWR
& EVAN ROBERT LEWIS. Not too large a gene pool... I know it'll help as I get
confused thinking I have poor information when the fact is it's just another route!
And also, thanks for the little history/biography info.. I know what my future reading
will be, especially since I enjoy history a great deal. Wasn't ELEANOR OF AQUITAINE
(French) a wife of Henry II & mother to John? I read a book on her a few years ago
(Eleanor & the 4 Kings, I believe) & was, of course, thrilled with Katharine
Hepburn's performance in Lion in Winter. -sorry to get sidetracked...
One small question, perhaps a geography one: Are Grainlanoc, Graininoc, Grainoc &
Grainianoc the same place? In the Rhodri descent, there were "Lord"s of each of
these spellings. It would seem logical that a title would be passed down & a general
lack of spelling skills might account for the variation. I was just curious.
Another sidetrack - is it possible that King Lear (d. 810) is related through JANE
CADWALDR, wife of EVAN ROBERT LEWIS?
One last sidetrack - I've had no luck via internet finding information on the ship,
Robert & Elizabeth, which was to have transported 4 of Evan ap Evan's children in
1698, or the ship transporting Thomas Evans in 1697. I gave my local library a list of
books for ILL, but may have to go to Denver to look at them there. In any case, I'm
still working on it.
Thanks again for such wonderful (& boggling) information.
Cousin Beth.
