According to my understanding of the Welsh word "Ddu", it means black or
dark. This I belive was used in a discriptive way and had the same
connotation as Dafydd Goch (meaning Dafydd had red hair or was red
complected) and Gwladus Ddu ( meaning that Gwladus was either dark
complected or had dark hair). This is the first I have heard that it also
means bad. However, I can see where it could. :)
