Dear Cousins,
Thanks, Priscilla, for the info on Jonathan Evans. I believe he's actually JONATHAN
EVANS, JR., son of Jonathan Evans & Hannah Walton. I'm from his line of
Evans'. I think I sent you (& Emily) copies of genealogy charts which would
include him (in Stokes, Cope, Emlen, Evans Genealogy by Francis Joseph Stokes, Jr., see
Chart 26; I'm on Chart 21). The book, Tapestry Threads, by J. Morris Evans,
chronicles the life of his grandson, Jonathan Evans & includes some info on J.E.Jr. as
well since the book by William Bacon Evans was used as a reference. As a pacifist during
the American Revolution, J.E.Jr. was imprisoned in "the Quaker Room" in the jail
@ 3rd & Market Streets in Philadelphia. Among other things, he was a founder of
Westtown School in 1790 where my cousin's children (who are also Diaments, Priscilla)
attend today.
And Priscilla, thanks for the info on the ship, Robert & Elizabeth. I'm always
looking for MORE info!
Beth.
