Dear Roland & Emily, etc.,
I have located a little FHC at a distance where I can go, spend some time & still get
home the same day (I have to call ahead for an appointment so they'll open it!), so I
dug up the list below from an e-mail in Feb. in which Roland had put together a research
wish-list of sorts. This will be a brand new experience for me, and I was wondering what
on this list is still in need of looking up, or might there be something of higher
importance right now? In other words, do any of you intrepid travelers want to give me an
assignment? I have to be out of town next week, but hope to get there the week following.
I can't begin to tell you how many wretched things are occurring in my life right
now, so I will welcome this as a brief diversion. I figure research and red wine will be
good therapy. I won't have much time, but would love the narcotic thrill of
discovery!
Lemme know Beth.
Roland writes:
Sorry folks, but reality has pressed in on all sides of me lately. Here is the list that I
have come up with for FHC research. Quaker records for the period are proving difficult to
locate. These records are on microfilm and your local FHC will request them from SLC for
you. Unless you have a microfilm reader, you can't do them at home. They may let you
use them at your local library or your local historical society, but I don't know that
for certain. I have always viewed the films in the FHC library.
