Dear cousins,
Welcome to the new members of the family (new to me!) Some answers
to queries: Jenkins, author of "Gwynedd" accepts that William John and
Thomas Evans were cousins. Both were early landholders in Gwynedd and
influential in the Meeting. He also says Jane John and William John were
brother and sister, from two different wives - one name unknown and
Margaret.. He says Margaret was no. 2 and the unknown no. 1, but I guess
there were definitely two. "Welsh Founders of PA" also says this. Jenkins
carries on the Roberts line, but has no mention of Pricilla from whom Linda
descends. He does mention a son in law of Rowland named James Williams, to
whom he leaves "one dun filly , according to my promise by word of mouth" -
His will dated 7th month 12, 1749. Jenkins mentions only two children -
Eldad (1713) and Sarah (1715).
I have a query of my own - where is Penmaen, parish of Llanfor? When
we went to Wales I found a town Penmaen on Conwy Bay, so presumed that was
it, but I am seeing it referred to as closer to Fron Goch. Does anyone know?
I am enjoying the thought of all these cousins out there. I hope we
find more!
Priscilla
