Greetings,
FIRST: It is wonderful to see the list alive again. I know we have all
been very busy. It is always grand to hear from any of you.
Terry and Randall --thanks for the information on the Pugh book ( "The
Robert Pugh Family--One branch of the Robert and Sarah Evans Pugh Family").
Does anyone know if copies are available. These are my direct
ancestors. If not, what library is known to have it?
Welcome Roland! I will try to send a short <G> request for info needed
from your wonderful local resources. Don't panic --although, I really need
to send it soon, we are in the middle of major remodeling and I barely have
time to read the email nightly --my body is too sore to do much else <VBG>!
REQUEST: Please try to delete previous email that tags along with your
replies as the RootsWeb archives really don't need the repetition. This
organization is free (donations accepted, however) and I wish to keep it
that way for the sake of all those who can't afford the pay sites.
THE TRIP:
I appreciate the response from those who took the time to reply. I sure
wish everyone could go, but no doubt this won't be the only trip for some
of you. At least I am willing to go any year I can! <G>
I do need to know dates and length of time for those who are interested so
we might all be there at least part of the time together. Can we have a
time commitment for making plane reservations? Perhaps everyone who is
going could determine from what airport they will exit the US so some or
all could travel on the same plane or at least land at the same airport
around the same time. It is easier to get a car(s) that way as anyone
driving needs to have their licenses listed.
I'd like a count of those going so we can determine how many cars are
needed.....assuming some of you want to share the expense! I advice no
more than three to a car and small cars. Let me know if you are a
multi-luggage person. I've tons of advice in that department --and
strongly suggest one packed and one collapsible and empty bag. These cars
are not big and the roads are smaller. I've been down roads where you pull
in the mirrors to keep away from the bushes on each side. (No one-way, so
you back up if you meet someone) ...not to scare you --that's not the major
roads.
Not to drive everyone else nuts, once I see exactly who is going, we can
email each other privately.
I'm certain, that all of us going would appreciate some support from those
who are not. By support, I mean, gleaning all you can and forwarding it to
us.....especially, info from FHC films (original records, especially),
Quaker records, deeds, etc. in our area of PA, etc.. I have posted a
request on the Powys list (may from Wales are members) to request info on
researching there. PLEASE pass on any advice, knowledge you have in this
department. No experts on Welsh research are going! <G>
I'm asking this with little guilt since what we find in Wales will be to
your benefit, and we won't have all the time we will want. So to make our
work there the best it can be, we must scramble here. PLEASE step forward
and volunteer to help.
Suggestions, advice, etc.?
Best wishes,
Emily
