Not me...I have had responses to my personal queries
as late as 2 years after I posted them...I've
personally had a HUGE amount of success with my
research as a result of queries I have posted
worldwide. I now own a copy of my gg grandparents
marriage record from England which I'd not have had I
been opposed to posting queries, photos of some long
lost Mormon ancestors who settled in Utah (this came
from a two year old query about a cemetery in
Marysvale Utah)and a TON of stuff on my dad's family
which would have taken me years to gather and cost me
a fortune considering that the library here in Tampa
thinks only the 13 original colonies and the south
had ancestors to reasearch... Just a couple of weeks
ago I was able to meet with two cousins I found
through queries posted on Henry Co ILGenWeb Project
during a trip to Illinois.
A great deal of your chances of getting results from
queries is how well you WRITE a query...apparently
mine don't stink because I've been getting results
via posting them on both the internet and the old bbs
systems for years now. I too ran a bbs for many years
and am sorry Bob's opinion is anti-query, but hey, the
query section has been a REQUIRED portion of the
USGenWeb Project since it began, and if a party has
strong objections to them, perhaps they should not be
volunteering to work on a project that requires them.
Nothing personal Bob...just the way I look at it...
I've been quiet for some time now, but since I spent
a year pulling FLGenWeb Project out of the swamp it
was consumed by before turning it over to Darrel, I
think I have some right to express an opinion on the
matter...

Hi list.... In the spirit of compromise Bob has
dropped his
official opposition to requiring Query Pages for
each site.
Unofficially he still opposes the requirement.
Just to be
thorough here, is there anyone else out there that
agrees
with Bob?
