Subject: Watson families in Polk County
Sirs,
My line of Watsons settled in Polk County in 1857 according to family
oral tradition. I am seeking ways to verify or disprove this information.
Can you give me any leads as how to do this? My great grandfather was
George Washington Watson (1855-1930). His mother was Martha Ellen 'Elinder'
Hall Watson that married Irwin/Irvin Davis in Polk County in 1867. They
came out of Irwin County,GA. There was an estate sale in 1856 in Irwin
County after the death of George's father and husband of Elinder, so I know
that they were still in Ga at that time.
Any suggestions would be most helpful. You may know my aunt- Evelyn
Watson Pollock. She surveyed Mt Olive Cemetery.
Thank you,
David B Watson
