I thought it appropriate that Florida CCs have the opportunity to hear from
the other candidate for
South-East/Mid-Atlantic CC Representative. Below is a message to yo from
Shari Handley.
Having worked with Shari over the years, I highly recommend her as a
representative for our region.
Bob Bamford
FLGenWeb Advisory Board
USGenWeb Project National Coordinator (1998)
Northeast/North Central CC Rep (1997-1998)

Dear Florida CCs;
As some of you may know, I am running for the SE/MA Region's CC Rep
position. I'd like to take this opportunity to ask you for your support,
to welcome any questions you may have, and to invite you to visit my
Campaign Page.
I've been a part of the USGenWeb Project since 1996 as founding CC for
Somerset and Wicomico Counties in Maryland. I believe strongly, as we all
do, in the Project's original goals of providing free online genealogy help
and data, and and I believe that my ideas, talents and skills can be put to
good use as a respresentative for the many SouthEast/Mid-Atlantic Region
County Coordinators.
As your Representative, I would work to support the interests of all the
CCs in the Southeast/Mid-Atlantic Region. We're all a part of this Project
because we believe in the idea of providing researchers with as much
genealogical help and information as possible, all for free. Whatever I can
do to make that task easier for you, the County Coordinator, the heart and
soul of this great Project, I will do. As a part of the SE/MA
Representation Team, along with Yvonne James-Henderson and Bridgett Smith,
I will do my best to keep you well informed of what the Board is working
on. I believe that openness and clear lines of communication are
imperative between the Board and all the volunteers they represent
(County/Parish Coordinators, State Coordinators, Town Coordinators, etc.).
Additionally, your input on the issues facing the USGenWeb Project is
important to me, and I would make sure that the Board was aware of any
ideas or concerns you may have communicated to me.
My online genealogical pursuits include:
CC for Somerset County, Maryland
CC for Wicomico County, Maryland
Assistant State Coordinator, MDGenWeb Project
Listowner for the LOWER-DELMARVA-ROOTS mailing list (with over 650 list
members, and no flame wars! <g>)
Host of Handley's Eastern Shore MD Genealogy Project
Webmaster of the Lower Delmarva Genealogical Society Online
I have put a lot of effort into my nationally-recognized county sites, and
I take pride in them. Please take a moment to visit them by clicking on the
links in the first paragraph. If elected to represent you, I will serve
with the same pride and attention to detail with which I have crafted my
sites.
I would very much appreciate your support in the coming election. If you
have a question about my view on any specific issues, I'd love the chance
to answer them for you. Please jot me an eMail message at
<srhandley(a)c3net.net>.
Thanks very much for listening. For more information about me and my
campaign, take a look at <

I wish each of you a Very Merry Christmas and a Healthy, Happy New Year!
