Darrel, Cathy and everyone,
I used excel for the Gilchrist 1935. I didn't have much of a "template"
but I can share the header row with anyone that wants it.
Now for some fun facts about the 1935 state census. The pages are not
numbered at all. Some were filmed out of sequence. The houses nor
families are numbered, just one long list of names. In Gilchrist County
some people are listed more than once, but they are mixed in another
location. Some of the film is clear and easy to read. A lot of Alachua
County is not readable. I thought the 1870 census of Alachua County was
bad, until I saw the 1935.
BTW... The 1885 state census is not complete. Alachua County is
missing.
Jim
Darrel... I have copied the first 3 precincts. I ran the machine out of
paper and toner. If I don't run out of dimes, the machine only takes
dimes, I'll get it finished tomorrow at lunch. Funny thing about the
change machine, you put in a dollar you get dimes, you put in a five
dollar bill you get quarters. Five dollars worth of quarters seem
pretty heavy in your pocket.
