I agree that we should get as many of these on line as possible, but I
do want to say one thing about the Walton 1885 census! I do not know
who took it, but it was very poorly done! The best example I can give
of the problems, is the section on my Edge family. They were all
enumerated as one family but they were all in separate domiciles on
the same homestead. Families were intermingled, children with the
wrong parents, and some men who appear to have been living and working
in Santa Rosa County, were enumerated in Walton as well as in SR. I
have not verified that part totally, as yet. Spelling was atrocious as
well. One entry "Mack Sene" listed as male, is actually "Maxine,"
female.
Now, it may have been that the only one home was a child, but some of
the other entries seem as bad. A strongly worded caution would be in
order for this one!
