[Dear USGW Member,
It is that time of year again! Elections are coming, and this year, I would
like to give every member the opportunity to really get to know the
candidates in all categories.
Sometimes it is really hard to vote in these elections when we are not given
the tools to know the people running and all of the issues on the ballot.
This year, we would like to change that. An invitation has been sent to all
candidates to join an open Candidate forum. This is where you, as a voting
member of the USGW can come and ask the candidates questions in order to get
their views on all topics, and so that you can get to know them better.
Thanks to Mike St.Clair who provided the space and the software, we have
three volunteer members, who are not candidates, who will be administering
the forum for you. Wally Garchow (CC for Darke & Preble Co's in OH among
others), Alice Gayley (CC for Clearfield, Armstrong & Jefferson Co's in PA)
and Donna Allen (CC for Giles Co., TN, Culpeper, Richomond & Rappahnnock
Co., VA, McIntosh Co., GA, Moore, Klegerg, Jim Hogg Co's, TX, Co-Coordinator
Texas Postcards Project, and Co-Coordinator "Getting Started in Genealogy" a
Tennessee Special Project).....Thank you a million times over for caring
about your project and your fellow members!
The forum is now open for you to register to participate! Please consider
joining us at
http://election.temp-site.us/profile.php?mode=register. You
will be able to ask questions of all candidates in all regions, or you may
just observe the Q & A of the candidates by other members. Either way it is
a tool designed to help you at Election time! We will also be discussing
the proposed Bylaw change in this forum. If you didn't know, the work that
the BRC did will not make it to this ballot. So there is one change being
proposed, it was sponsored by 5 states. Please come in and take a look at
both the good and the bad of the proposed change.
I hope to see you there. Your voice and vote matters so much in how this
project is run. Remember, this is your project. Please come out and vote.
Sincerely,
Paulette Carpenter]
