[ I'm resending this to the FLGen-L list because I think I had the wrong
address when I sent it out earlier this month ]
Hi, Florida GenWeb Project County Coordinators ~
Due to a bad storm in California, the folks at RootsWeb were just able to
run the January statistics last night. But they're in!!
I can't believe how much we jumped! We more than TRIPLED the amount of
data in the archives in just *one* month! We jumped from wherever we stood
in the 20s to #12, solidly in front of Louisiana and not far behind Tennessee.
For those who are interested in this number-crunching, here are the top 15
states in terms (I believe the 5-digit numbers are kilobytes) of data. You
can get an idea of where we stand in relation to the top three states (WOW).

7 21866 pa
8 21369 me

11 16248 tn
12 15474 fl
13 15177 la

I still see marriage record indexes, cemeteries surveys, census data, etc.
on some of the county sites that aren't in the Archives yet.
I'd like to ask the county coordinators who haven't already to please comb
your sites for files that could be added to the archives. Just because
they're in the archives doesn't mean they aren't on your site anymore! It
just increases the likelihood that someone looking for the information will
find it, especially with the search engine at RootsWeb.
If you're unsure of how to send a file to me...don't! Just give me the
permission to put the file in the Archives and I will do all the work.
Thanks for all your hard work so far, and let's keep it up!
