Hello all,
Gadsden County's GenWeb site is in transition. I have taken over from Rhonda Smith,
who, bless her heart, lives in Virginia, but has been taking care of Gadsden County for
several years. I asked her if I could take it over, and she consented since she is the
coordinator for two other GenWeb sites.
I am a native of Gadsden County and I know the family names, the roads, the cemeteries,
and the history. I think I will love coordinating this site. I have never created a web
page before, so it was a learning process, and Darrell Bell and Rhonda Smith have been
very patient with me while I first learned what to do, then set about doing it. The
Gadsden GenWeb site has over 100 pages in it, and it has kept me burning the midnight oil
the last two months trying to get all that data re-formatted for my template.
I plan to upload the files on Monday. Any good tips on file submission, please write to
me personally. I have read the instructions on the USGenWeb site for coordinators, but
they really did gloss over things, and I'm now more worried than before I read the
instructions.
I know my web page is not perfect--it needs a few more navigational buttons and an index
to the cemeteries that are in row order--it's too hard to find someone that way, but
it does preserve the family relationships. I just hate searching for the name I want
through 400 other names not in alphabetical order. So I will be making that easier for
our researchers this next year.
Please check out the site in a week or so and give me some feedback. I will appreciate
any suggestions and also any good links that researchers might find helpful.
Wish me luck on Monday!

Hernando and Hillsborough counties checking from the "actually snow covered

the driveway this morning. Thought I was back in Juneau, Alaska for a
moment.
Welcome Angela. Hope that you have fun with Gasden county.
I am finally moving into the bright new world of DSL. Bellsouth told me my
phone line is now capable of carrying DSL. All I am waiting for is the
equipment. Then I get to install it and verify my new email address.
Yeah!!! I am so un-techy.
