Sounds good to me. I might even work on anothr idea I have for one. If you
all have not checked out Google Books you should.
I hae found some very interesting books there relating to Florida History
AND found one book that broke a Catapillar D-9 sized hole in one of my brick
walls and opened up 3 more generations to my Allen family and offered some
clues to another line I am struggling with. I have downloaded so many books
that I have just about reached the allowable bandwidth for me from my ISP! I
have also ordered 5 books that are only available in snippets because they
had interesting tidbits on ancestors or possible ancestors.
Here is wishing everyone a Safe and Happy New Year and please remember if
you drink don't drive and always ave a designated sober driver when you do
go out and drink!

Subject: ANNOUNCEMENT! Logo Contest
Darrel & crew,
This should do for the logo contest. Ya'll let me know if I missed
anything.
I think voting will be public, via any of the "official" mailing lists or
groups. I'll set up a Google spreadsheet and keep track as I did last
time, if that suits you.
I won't include Becky and Laverne in the spreadsheet sharing since they
both have logos in the contest. Does that sit well with everyone?
If not, holler now.
Rel@ively,
Patrice
Hear ye! Hear ye! Read all about it...
The long awaited logo contest is about to begin. Do you have a logo idea
that you just can't wait to share? Well now is the time.
Contest Rules:
The logo must include the text: "FLGenWeb"
The logo must be resizable to a maximum height of 100 pixels for Google
Search, and 48 x 48 pixels for the favicon (the favicon does not have to
include text but should be easily recognizable and distinctive).
We are not setting a maximum size, but the usual consideration for dialup
users should be your guide.
Submit your design by email to fla.archive(a)gmail.com. Logos will be
posted to
http://www.flgenweb.net/volunteers/logos.html No artist names
will be included during the contest period. By entering your logo in the
contest, you are granting FLGenWeb the perpetual use of the logo if it is
one of the contest winners. At the end of the contest, the winning
artists will receive credit, kudos and our eternal thanks.
The deadline for submission is 12:01 AM, February 1, 2008.
Voting will begin at 12:01 AM on February 8, 2008 and continue until 12:01
AM, February 29, 2008. You may vote for 4 logos in your order of
preference. Details on how to vote will be sent out the first week of
February 2008.
Suggestions:
Clarity is important.
Some of our County Coordinators will prefer buttons, so the design should
be easy to buttonize.
