Fellow Project Members, we are soon approaching the goal that was deliberated and
sanctioned by the members. So this will indicate that the initial planning phase has
come to and end! I am well please by their turn out of everyone during this process.
The Pre-Operation Phase has started! This to include the movement of the counties from
the RW Servers to the FLGenWeb Servers. There will be new policies that will be
introduced for the coordinators to view for placements various links that will be needed
on their web sites. The policies will be outlined by Laverne Tornow, The FLGenWeb Project
Director of Operations. Along with Patrice Green, they have burnt a lot of midnight oil
developing our new home; plus not only the use of their talents are being utilized, but
they are our contributors that have made the server space available for our Project.
it is our goal to make these servers a secure as possible, without requiring special
access to our county sites and library. One tool to deter possible pilferage will be the
institution of Acceptable Use Policy. Other measures
that are feasible will be looked at to see how they measure up to our present and future
requirements. The proposed Acceptable Use Policy is outlined in the center cell @
http://www.flgenwebarchives.com/.
In close we has seen many changes in the Genealogy world and there are more to come. With
the beginning of 2008, we will be ready to set a new standard to further benefit our
visitors/researchers who are still searching for that that one missing link to complete
their families genealogy.
So with this I'll close with "Merry Christmas and Happy New Year".
