As sent by me to the APL List (slightly modified)
1. The federal government has no business regulating (protecting)cemeteries.
2. Many cemeteries are owned and operated by religious organizations and,
therefore, the federal government cannot interfere with their operation.
3. State and local governments can, and in many cases do have, strong laws
in this regard. In many cases they are not enforced.
4. Do FL laws need to be strengthened and/or better enforced? What can we do?

Dear All,
I was at my county Courthouse this past week and I must say that this
was a buzz in there. Some was Positive and some negative. The State and
Counties do not know how to handle this if this law passes. To much work
not enough money and employees is what they are all claiming from what I
understand. But it is my personal opinion that we should have law that
will help us to preserve at least this part of our history. I have been
in to many Cemetery's and found stones that couldn't be read or you
couldn't even get into them because they were so over grown that the
grass was higher than your head, you wouldn't have wanted to go into it
to start off with. So I must say I agree with Mary. Judge for yourself,
ask question and Please say yes. I remain,
Sincerely Yours,
