Nancy Miller here for Sumter County checking in for December. Happy
Holidays to all and I hope that you all have a happy New Year.
I'm sorry that I am checking a little late, but I had to wait a few
day's to make sure I had the info that I wanted to tell you all. Well, I
have obtained copies of the 1830, 1840 and 1850 Florida Census. I have
at this just received the pages on Disk also. I had them Scanned for
their Images. So I can do most of any lookup that you may need. Please
note though that the 1850 Census is only an Index of Surnames. I am
expected to receive the full Census soon. Also note that the 1830 and
1850 Census is of the Head of Households. Hey but, who can complain. I
also have obtained the info on the Indian War Claims for years of
1861-1926, the Confederate Glossary, Biographical Rosters of Florida's
Confederates & Union Soldiers 1861-1865 vol. 3 thru 5, the list of what
is known of the Florida Soldiers and Sailors Buried in the State of
Florida( note that I have found some missing, but it looks pretty
accurate),
Florida's Military Muster Roles & Florida Dept. of Military affairs
(vol. 1,2,3,4,5,6,8,9) and last not but hopefully not least all of the
Florida's Armed Occupation Act Settlers from the 1840's to 1845. I hope
I can help any of you with this info.
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Best Wishes to
all!!!!. I remain,
Sincerely Yours,
Nancy Miller
