A few questions have been aired regarding Copyrights. There are a few
places I'd recommend anyone with copyrights question to visit: The
USGenWeb Project URL for Copyright
http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/copyright.html and for Query Lookups
http://www.usgenweb.org/volunteers/querylookup.html. These URLS contain
the required information for Volunteers to follow to maintain the
Copyright Standards USGW expects its volunteers to follow.
For those who wish to go a little further with your Copyright
understandings, it is recommended that you visit The US Copyright Office
Homepage
http://lcweb.loc.gov/copyright/ . Finally there's Brad
Templeton's Page Myths about Copyright explained. Here Brad expalins
the ten most common myths regarding Copyrights.
With the laws changing almost daily regarding copyright issues, it is
suggested that we maintain at least a basic understanding as to the does
and don'ts. It's cheaper to have a good understanding, than to risk
civil liabilities from a copyright law suit.
Sincerely,
Darrel Bell
