I am asking for volunteers and/or nominations to fill a four (4) postion
Advisory Board for the FLGenWeb. I feel that there are certain
responsibilities of our Project that should be decentralized. There
will be certain decision making responsibilities that now rest with the
State Coordinator, that should be divested to an Advisory Board.
One important item that must be paramount is the upgrading of our
FLGenWeb Policy and Procedures to make them to read as By-Laws. With
the USGenWeb Election last month, the proposed USGW By-Laws were
favorably voted in. Therefore, I feel that our rules located at
http://www.rootsweb.com/~flgenweb/rules.htm be re-written.
However, I feel that one person should not have the responsibility to
under take this task. In kind to make this a democratic process, the
implementation of this Board should be in place before discussion be
made on any rule making policy.
The board will seat with five members, one being the chairman appointed
by the State Coordinator; and the other four members to be selected by
the Project Membership. In making my selection for the board chairman,
I have asked Jim Powell, the current Assistant State Coordinator to
undertake this addition duty.
I am asking that all nominations/and or volunteers make their intentions
know as soon as possible, so that an election process be implemented.
Respectfully,
Darrel R. Bell
FLGenWeb Project State Coordinator
