Cemeteries Task Force Holds Public Meeting
TALLAHASSEE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 24, 1998--The Florida Department
of Banking and Finance (DBF) has formed a task force to combat the growing
number of neglected and abandoned cemeteries in Florida.
The Abandoned and Neglected Cemeteries Task Force will meet Tuesday,
Sept. 1, from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. in Room 214 at the Capitol. This
meeting is open to the public.
Any citizen with knowledge of cemeteries in disrepair, or ideas
concerning their restoration, is invited to attend. This meeting is the first
of many to be scheduled around the state.
Copies of the Task Force meeting agenda may be obtained by contacting
Gladys Hennen in the Division of Finance at 850/488-0357, ext. 567. Requests
should be made by Aug. 25. Ms. Hennen can also arrange accommodations for
those with disabilities if she receives notice by Aug. 27. Anyone who is
hearing or speech impaired may reach Ms. Hennen via the Florida Relay Service
