I have had Hillsborough county now for year and have noticed how
different it is from Hernando or the two counties in GA, Columibia and
Screven. The research request are usually from post 1900 and post
1940. The list or I gets at least 2 queries a month from adoptees
wanting to find birth parents. What really amazes me is that I don't
get these questions from the other counties.
Living out in Idaho, there is not much I can do to either find their
parents for them, which some have asked, or to give the seekers
answers about where to look. Do the other counties have this type of
traffic? Does the state have a web site for this type of questions?
I know that I am totally ignorant on this type of hunt. I thought
privacy laws in most states required a court hearing and order before
a person may see their adoption records.
Frustrated in Idaho.
