Ladies and Gentlemen,
We have been working our little fingers to the bone to set up
FLGenWeb Message Groups for every Florida County.
The Groups can be used as your Query Board and communication
center. We would like each CC and/or ACC to manage their own county,
but if you would rather not, we will try to find someone with an
interest in your county to manage the group.
I'll bet you want to see what they look like. Here are a few samples:
Citrus:

Lake:

Brevard:

Alachua:

The Groups are as easy to manage as a mailing list -- sort of. I
won't lie to you, it takes a little getting used to, but we've done
the hard part for you. All you have to do is subscribe then
manage. To do that go to
http://groups.google.com/group/fl (your
county name here). If that doesn't work, and I know it won't for
Orange County, try
http://groups.google.com/group/flgw (your county name here).
In the column on the far right, click on "Apply for membership"
Sign in to your Google Account (If you don't already have a Google
account create one, then sign in. All it takes is your name and
email address and click on a link in the resulting email to confirm
your email address.)
Choose how you want to read the Group. We recommend Email (or Digest) for CCs.
Select the Nickname you want to use for the Group. Note it will ONLY
apply to this group, so you could use "COUNTYNAME Manager"
substituting your county for COUNTYNAME. Don't worry, if you don't
like it you can change it later.
The next box asks, "What COUNTYNAME County, Florida surnames are you
researching?" Simply provide your name and CC or ACC and type in, I
want to manage.
Click the "Apply to this group" button.
In a few minutes or a few hours, depending upon the time of day and
availability of Owners, you will be approved and set up as a Manager.
Now what? Please go to this page

you can and can't, should and shouldn't do, and some great tips for
managing the group.
