Hi Fellow FLGenWeb Volunteers... I have been negotiating with several
entities trying to come up with a better Migrations Page. Currently our
Statewide Page is being used for queries rather than Migration
information. I would say over 90 percent of the messages have to be
deleted. In the beginning, I reformatted those that left enough
information and emailed others requesting a proper entry, but that got
to be a very big job. So now if they don't come close, I just delete
them.
Most of the other states are going with a system based on County
Volunteers and County Migrations Pages, but what I envision is something
similar to what Marceline Beem created for the Gravestones Database.
This would include a statewide entry point. Individual counties could
link to the search for their county or create pages with the results of
the search for their county. So far no one has volunteered to help
create my vision.
What do you think? Am I on the right track? Or should we follow the
lead of the other Migration Projects?
