Thank you for your response to my query regarding above. I have been overwhelmed by the
response from this List and hopeful that I will now make some progress with my GORDON
You mention a William GORDON who was shot by the I.R.A. at Roslea; I did hear of a GORDON
relative who was taken from his home unto a main highway and executed in front of his
family by the I.R.A. but do not know exactly when this occurred. The incident would,
however, have taken place in County Monaghan so could very well be the same family. I am
very anxious to hear what other information you have regarding these GORDONs. Also, as
you will have noticed from my original posting, I did have a John GORDON get married to
Jane HARBISON at Stonebridge Presbyterian Church in 1852.
John and Jane had at least 5 children - Robert Henry, Joe, William James, Tillie Ann and
Jane. I have no further information on Joe and William James but I know that Tillie Ann
married a Louis Henry GOODBODY (Solicitor from Dublin) and she lived out her life in
Dublin but produced no offspring. Jane GORDON married a man named NICHOL but I know
nothing more about this family at this time. I hope that some of these names may have
cropped up in your research material.
I know that my immediate GORDON family line led very strictly disciplined lives and were
respected members of the community but I look forward to the prospect of finding out all
about the extended family.
Elizabeth - I tried to respond to your e-mail plus attached photo but your personal e-mail

Aplogies to the rest of Fermanagh-Gold but this is the only route I have to reply to
