General information: The Armstrong families came over in 1640 to the now
village of Brookebough, Parish of Aghavea from a land grant from Charles I.
Sometime after 1645 to 1650 the Armstrong family Terre Whinny near the village of
Ederny. This means the Lands of the Cow. Not all of them Moved. It seems
they had large families with 5 to 6 sons. In several generations there would
not be enough land. Many US Generals came from this family. I believe even
Geo. C. Armstrong came from this group. The was a prominent Armstrong who lived
just outside of Detroit Mi. in St. Clair Shores or Groose Pt. who wrote a book
on all these Armstrong's. There a copy in the Detoit Burton Lib. but it is
reading room only. The author state that the original house was still in
Ireland in 1903 when he saw the home. The book was published in about 1905. Since
it was a local book I have no idea of how many copies or any other copies.
