"Sarah Botsford" arrived 15 or 17 Feb 1842 - sailed from Greenock 12 Oct
Eliza Gorrel (also written as Gore), 18y, farm servt, gone to brother at
Parramatta, brought out by J Miller, under protection of James & Mary
Corrigan- a cousin of latter, native of Maheracroft Fermagh, parents John &
Susan- father is alive, a farm & dairy servt, good health, likely to be
useful, c/e, can read, no complaints, James & Mary paid her passage.

Nobel Corrigan, 18y, s/o James & Mary, b. Lowthers Town Fermagh (parents on
Irvine Corrigan, 25y, s/o James & Mary, b. Lowthers Town Fermagh, farm labr
Francis Corrigan, 27y, s/o James & Mary, b. Lowthers Town Fermagh, farm labr
William Corrigan, 18y, s/o James & Mary, b. Lowthers Town Fermagh
Margaret Corrigan, 21y, d/o James & Mary, b. Maheracroft Fermagh (under

James & Mary Corrigan were free passengers but are not listed anywhere on
the shipping films. Records also say that some of the kids went to Patrick
Plains to seek employment (they probably all went).

Does anyone have information about William CORRIGAN, a cooper; married
to Maybella (nee JOHNSTON)? A marriage date, place, or
According to the burial details for their daughter, Isabella (also
known as Elizabeth) CORRIGAN, born 1836/7, Fermanagh; she married in
1858, Tempo, Garvary, Enniskillen
= William FOSTER, a farmer, residing Breacho, Enniskillen, Fermanagh;
son of Walter FOSTER.
Does anyone have info on Walter? Can you name his wife?
(My sincere thanks to Ken BIRNEY for Walter's name, posted recently on
his website. Thanks to you Ken, I am now back one more generation.)
Isabella and William FOSTER arrived in NZ about 1885 with their
family but I have not been able to establish where they had come from
prior to that.
They had at least 7 children before coming here; William, Isabella
and John "Jack" (from whom I descend); a male child born 1869; and a
female child born 1870; all registered in Enniskillen.
They also fostered James JOHNSTON who referred to himself as their
son at the time of William FOSTER snr's death, possibly a relative.
Isabella lived with this "son" in the cottage supplied with his job as
caretaker/gardener of the Auckland University, in her old age.
When Isabella died in 1919 her burial record states that she had 7
