Well said, I know both sides and the polarisation that occurs but as a
"southerner and liberal republican" I look forward to the day which will not
be long that both sides will enjoy one of the best days the north has to
give. Paddy's day has nothing in comparison to the 12th. It's happening and
hopefully it wont be long. But not next year.
All our days will come and it is a joy to see what is happening (but a bit
slow) in the north over the past few years.
Even in the worst of times a moderate never got in trouble so possibly we
should all be visiting and keep them on their best behaviour and show how to
Think Rugby, think Munster (my team) and think we will be supported by on
20th May for European Cup Final in Cardiff (by all of Ulster,ok they won it
once) but we were in 3 finals and 8 semi finals. Every Ulster true blue will
support us and we would love a couple of Lambeg Drums to help us on. (plus
any ex pat in UK) (or US or Aus)
I visit twice a year and if they can put up with a fool like me anybody will
enjoy themselves there.

Actually, I live in England, but am from Belfast, and still know that
I would echo Gerry Rice's comment and, if at all possible, avoid NI in
July - or, at least, in the period around the 12th. It is not that the
country ceases to be beautiful or friendly during that time, but just that
opinions and viewpoints tend to become a little more polarised at that
and so it could be that you may not experience the same freedom of
or openness in asking questions as at other times of the year. I tend
there in late July/August, and have been able to really enjoy the
countryside and a wide variety of people and places at that time. Last
summer, I had the most wonderful time exploring my own country! - going to
vast range of interesting places, and everywhere I went, people were
to stop and talk about the place we were in - it was lovely. I have
found that in the summer, it rains a little less than at other times -
time i visited, it only rained twice! - the first time, from Monday
Thursday, and the second time from Friday to Sunday.
good luck, and enjoy it!
