Viola,
I knew someone could answer this. Thank you. Cecelia was actually Hugh
McDonnell's daughter. Your answer clarifies the records for me.

The Colours are matched to the changes which took place and the year in
the
same colour .
"In Fee" under the Immediate Lessor means that the occupier began his
purchase of the plot under a LAP][Land Act Purchase"] either the
Ashbourne
or the Wyndham Act.
Payment was made twice yearly over a number of years.
The measurement of land was A=Acres R= roods P= poles or perches.
40 Perches or Poles= 1 Rood
4 Roods = 1 Acre
[A Pole or Perch was 5.5 square yards].
Mary McAvenna was the initial occupier in Griffith's Valuation.
The Year that Celia took over indicates the date Mary probably died or
retired if it is only the given name that changed the Surname will be the
same.
ie. the Celia could be Mary's daughter if only Mary deleted and McAvenny
left.
"Reps of......." also indicates a death of the person, but who's legal
iAdministration of the property has not been officialy completed. [Look
for
a will in that year or the following year].
The change from Celia to Hugh McDonnell could mean that Hugh married Celia
Now if the Celia is in front of McDonnell it can be taken as Hugh's
daughter.
I hope this helps everyone follow the progression of changes of Occupiers/
Lessors.
At a time between the initial Valuation and the year the updates ended the
measuremments of the land changed from Irish to English and this is
sometimes noted as well if it took place with altered measurements of the
land.
If the Occupier's name is followed by a given name, Jnr or Snr in brackets
it might indicate a relationship between the two people in the same
townland..

I am new to land records. I have found Hugh McDonnell in Lehinch
record.
In
black the initial recording is Mary McAvenna. That is crossed out in blue
and Celia his daughter is listed and then finally in red is Hugh's
name.
In
the Immediate Lessors ( landlord?) the Reps of Hump Butler are listed,
crossed out in red with "in fee" written in red and then a stamp in a
rectangle with L.A.P. in the entry. What does this mean?
Under area A. is 18. does this mean 18 acres?
Finally in the last column in blue ink 1902, red 1906 and purple in
1908.
I
assuming that the ink colors correspond to the changes in the entries?
Sorry for so many questions but these entries are all new to me, and
probably others as well.
