Kinally is the old spelling for Kinawley
Druminiskill is in Killesher Parish which borders with Kinawley and at times
have been served by the same Priests for the RC Church and Minister of the
Ch of Ireland.
Some Parishioners both RC and Ch of Ireland from Kinawley worshipped in
Swanlinbar, just across the Border in Co Cavan and often served by the same
Priest or Minister.
Killesher parish townlands differ between the RC Church and the Ch of
Ireland. The former having some 6 or 8 more townlands more that the Ch of I
Unfortunately the Swanlinbar records have not been transcribed and Kinawley
records are few, but the Killesher Ch of I c1828 Tithe records and
Griffith's valuation of c1862 for have been done by Gaby Burns in a small
Book many years ago and I think now out of print.
Gaby also produced a book of the 1901 Census of those townlands in Killesher
parish, which I think are also out of print.
I have transcribed the same Killesher townlands from the 1911 Census which
are available of the FG website.
A McCaffrey family own a Quarry in the Derrylin area and I know some of that
The late Ruth Gregson transcribed some Kinawley BMDs from very early times
before civil registration was introduced. These are also on FG.
That website is searchable and for personal use for FG list members.
