THANK YOU Vi.
As an addition to my previous Off topic post, I have noted all those great
games, and hope to include them in our "Children's Family history days
throughout our Beyond the Tree exhibition.
THANK YOU for those great suggestions, as we're trying to involve the
younger generation and encourage them to learn about the lives of their
forebears.
Your games will be a new way of "showing".
Much appreciated - and good luck with your Family Fun day today.
Pat

Hi Viola,
Sounds like a real hoot!
The children will surely love the games - the ' Rat Attack' will be a winner
:-)
So few experience this kind of play, unfortunately, too much technology in
their lives surely heaps of old-fashioned FUN will be a joy to them!
We shall all pray with you for lovely weather - and exhausted kids at the
end of the day.
Kindly,
Dee.

I will be helping out at a Cross Community Olde Time "Family Fun Day" being
held on Sunday 28th July, starting 1-0pm at Florencecourt Primary School, in
Aide of Five Cancer Charities. They are all such wonderful Causes and
deserve every support.
All the Olde Tyme entertainments such as Tug O' War, between the "Heart
Breakers" and the "Home Makers", Five-a-side Football, between the two
local Primary Schools, Wet sponge Throwing, Splat the Rat, and lots of
outdoor games and fun for all the Family.
I've made two 'Rats' out of stuffed old socks with bootlace tails and blue
sparkling eyes.
A length of piping is suspended at a slant and the 'Rat' is randomly
released and dropped down it.
The child has to "kill" the Rat by hitting it with a stick, as soon as it
emerges.
I'm told there is a preview of some of the games on Facebook, but I don't do
Facebook.
I am really looking forward to the whole events and watching the children's
faces.
I will be reminded of how my Mother used to take neighbour's children
Evaccuees, along with my Brother, sister and I to similar events and the
enjoyment of taking part in it all and dragging our tired bodies home in the
evening mentally and physically exhausted but very happy children.
We are all hoping that the present day children will get the same thrill in
taking part.
We are praying for a dry afternoon for it.
Viola
