Subject: FERMANAGH-GOLD -Happy Easter all my Golden Family
As I approach Good Friday I am thinking about you all and your families and the excitement
of children hunting for Easter Eggs! And the gathering of Families together.
This morning I kicked my old Computer into action. The first time for a couple of years.
The first File I opened contained Belcoo P E School Register of Female pupils from 1930 to
1950. So I tried to add their Fathers given names.
Because I'd only known them as "Mr This" or "Mr That", and not
their given names it was very few that I could add.
Not so with today's children who refers to one and all by their given name. How times
have changed over the years?
In my youth Belfast was a full day's journey away, even though it was only just over
one hundred Miles. That only takes about 2 hours by car on today's Roads and the
return back home can be achieved within the same day, with time in between to visit
relatives or shop for that special item!
That is supposed to be progress, but is the enjoyment of watching the changing scenery or
being able to relax and talk to a companion still there?
Happy Easter my friends
