I agree with ray and Cliff. Being RC.....I have come across this many
times...though in recent years or at least in 1973 (lol) when I married my X
(< please note X lol) we were married in RC Church and he was Lutheran.
Best thing that came out of that was my annulment (lol) and I am assuming
(though it was a horrible experience) that it was allowed more so because he
My grandparents Hugh Montgomery Copeland (Methodist) and Mae Russell
Moroney (RC) were married here in NY....They both received intense opposition
from their families but married anyway. (Thank goodness or I would NOT be
here today! lol) They were married in the Catholic Church though in the
rectory....and since my grandmother's family was so involved in the church I am
assuming THAT is why. Technically though they were NOT in the Church.
