There is a big possibility that Michael is Francis Rourkes father or
If you look at Griffiths again you will see that there are 3 Michaels on the
outskirts of the village.
1) Michael at Ardkip (Killanumery Parish)...just at the bridge as you come
into the village.
this Michael had no house on the land so he was living elsewhere. Those
small allotments were used for growing flax etc.
2) Michael in Dromahaire townland with a house almost at the entrance to the
Cattle Mart/fair ground.
He may have had some role in collecting fees for cattle being brought in for
3)Michael in Mullagh townland (no 30) which is next door to Michael in
Dromahaire. This Michael had a small farm , house on it etc.
I think they will all be the same person.
you would have the check the Tithe records of the 1820's /30's to see who
was there then.
Drumlease; C of I 1827 , RC 1884
Killanumery C of I 1859 and RC 1828.
There are some Baptism details available on line for a Francis O Rourke but
1833, 34,35 etc and at euro 5 per viewing.
I'll give you the link if you need it.

The following were in Capt John Carters Company of the Leitrim Militia

John O Rourke
Annmarie on this list had family who were on the farm next to Michael Rourke
in Mullagh (no 30).A Robert Dunne in no 29 who also had land at Ardkip.
I have no direct links to Drumahaire I just use it as a centre when I visit.
A beautiful old plantation town.
Hope this will be of some help.
