The name is Boyd from Carrowdureen ?sp Dromore West, Skreen, County Sligo.
When my husbands family started arriving from Cork, the one woman arrived a
widow with her sons, said she had no daughters. Found out later she had
three daughters but they changed from CoI to RC and she disowned them.
Something similar to your mother's story. Then - one of her sons married RC
and changed to that. Guess that was the way then.

They came from the same area since registration began – my problem – one
was Church of Ireland, and the other Roman Catholic.
What is the chance that the RC one changed to that religion when he
Any help would be appreciated.
