I have told him to get permission for the contributors that they have gotten
permission from PRONI.
He declined the offer to link to us which was my counter offer.
I believe you can get search results from FreeBMD on Ancestry which you then
have to click to go to their site if you want to see the original page. That is
what I recall.
I like Phishing in my pond. You made me laugh.
I have used the FreeBMD and FreeReg for a number of years.
Transcriptions are presented dated in Quarters (Jan-Mar) (Apl-Jun) etc.
The maiden name is only shown after c1906, but one can link the other party by
searching all the names shown (Usually Two Couples per result.)
Not had a lot of success with FreeReg but when I was searching English records
it was only in its infancy.
Hope that helps you or others to form an opinion. I think you need further
Individual permission off each contributor or a general permission from the Admin?
As far as I remember both sites were sponsored by Rootsweb so it is now
Ancestry who are Phishing in Your Pond. And I'd doubt that much would be
available free after they get it.
That's my Penn'oth, as they say in Yorkshire.
by the person in charge of Free Reg (English records) to transcribe
records donated to the Ireland Genealogy Projects Archives for Fermanagh.
I initially said No as it sounded as if he planned to raid the entire website.
I have backed up from my initial horror and told him he has to have
permission from the contributors.
So, he says they will transcribe the transcriptions when they get permissions
That is where that stands.
