The Kilmore Toast
"Here's to the Johnstons and the Johnstons' Bairnes,
And to them that lies in the Johnstons' Airnes"
Updated into modern English this would read:
"Here's to the Johnstons and the Johnstons' Children,
And to those who are held in the Johnstons' Arms."
Of course it loses something in the translation.not to mention the rhyme.the
Scots' tongue definitely puts it better.
"May the best you've ever seen,
Be the worst you'll ever see,"
