Hello Vi and Bill:
In my search for OWENS from the Belleek end of the lake (Drumcrow, Rosscrennagh,
Family tradition has it that the first son of John OWENS the first and his first wife
(unknown) was ordained by John Wesley. Unsubstantiated that his name was (Rev) Thomas
Owens. The closest that I could find in Methodist records was a (Rev) Thomas OVENS of an
appropriate date. Now if I could just remember where I found that information, and what
the dates were...
Is it too much of a leap to think that Owens and Ovens are different spellings of a
related name? (Like Maguire and McGuire for example.)

There are only 5 OVENS entries in the lakeland Phone book.
2 in Belleek, 2 in Brookeborough and 1 in Lisbellaw.
I do not know the name of the townland the church was built on.
