thank you Karen
I am always worried that I may sound pompous or longwinded
when answering these mails, so it's encouraging to know that they are useful
for other people

Betreff: Re: [FER-GOLD] history question
Karen from NZ here.
When I was a youngster I was very interested in ancient history - Egyptian
pyramids, human sacrifice in the South American highlands, etc (like most
kids, a bit bloodthirsty I suppose, lol), however I was never interested in
history as school progressed.
These days, in researching where my family, and eventually I, came from, I
find it absolutely fascinating. Thank you for bringing some more
enlightenment to us.
I feel that most of the time we tend to 'skim across' the why's of our
ancestry, because of our limited time to research, and focus more on the
'whos' and 'wheres', thus making the people one dimensional.
Oh for a time travel machine to go back and ask the questions of the people
of the time!!
