Yep - that sounds like a good approach for a future addition to the program.
An indexed list of shared notes similar to Sources and just referenced in

use but it does get unwieldy when it either gets repeated or ignored in

Would your 'trick' of initially turning shared notes off and then separately
generating "appendix" pages for them, also be workable when generating
output files for subsequent printing to FH - "create CD"? If so, how would
you do it?

I don't have a solution myself to this one, what I do is normally to
print reports with shared notes turned off and then print them using
the record print to add as "appendix" pages to the end of the reports.
I think a wish list item to allow shared notes to be handled in a
similar way to sources might be nice a line in the report saying that
an additional note exists with a reference number and print all shared
notes at the end between the main report and the sources.
