Well I've right clicked on the external Seagate hard-drive and then clicked
on properties and it says the file system is FAT32 - it is a few years old.
Presumably reformatting it will destroy the data? I might be able to copy
it all to another drive, reformat the disc and then copy it back. When I
click on "Format..." the default file system is shown as NTFS and the
Allocation unit size is 4096 although bigger sizes are selectable. Not to
sure what the pros and cons are of selecting a bigger size though. Perhaps
I should just buy a large smart card or whatever.
