Excellent Patricia, all your comments are correct.
You have almost got the quick method to delete the Cause field with your Query.
I suspect your query already shows the Cause field, but if not then add a Column for Cause
with Expression: %FACT.CAUS%
In the Result Set select all the Cause column values (click the first one then hold Shift
key while clicking the last one).
Then press the Delete key or use Edit > Delete and OK the warning message.

Subject: Re: [FHU] Gedcom file
Thank you Mike, Nigel and John for your suggestions and help. I have now used the Export
Gedcom File plugin and exported as an ANC
file. I found the Split Tree Helper amazing. It got rid of most of what I wanted to
The only problem I have now is that it won't delete the Cause of Death even though I
request it in - Delete all facts listed below.
I presume this is because it will delete a stand alone Cause of Death fact, but not the
field listed under Death which is the one
I'm using. What I've done is create a query to show me those Death records that
contain a Cause of Death and I can go along and
delete the field individually. That is unless anyone knows a quicker way to do it. I'm
grateful for all your help.
