Sony went to a lot of trouble to test all their PC products, bearing in mind
they no longer own the PC business. Compatibility result testing was
reported in November/December 2015 and they issued a list of which would
work, which with limited facilities and which would not upgrade. They also
contacted their registered owners via the update news method on the Pcs.
They also produced a set of rules to use for upgrading their PCs and not to
follow the Microsoft method. I am not trying to bolster Sony but they do
seem to have done much more than other PC manufacturers to ensure any
upgrades go without problem. My motto is don't believe Microsoft above the

which have had a couple of critical bugs crashing Windows 10 computers so

I too have upgraded an old HP/Compaq laptop to Windows 10 and it works fine.
However I have a client who uses a Sony Vaio laptop which we spent a couple
of days trying to upgrade.
Eventually a call to Microsoft resulted in them saying the drivers needed
We called Sony who said that there are no Windows 10 drivers for the laptop
and they did not intend producing them.
