I have downloaded Jane's 'Ancestors UK Census Checker',
which is a wonderful addition to Family Historian. However, I have a problem because a
long time ago (before census events could be indexed by year), I created custom events and
the majority of my ancestors have their census information recorded in these. Result being
that they all show up as having no census entries!
As a (many years ago) ex-programmer, I have tried to modify the plugin but cannot make it
work, so would appreciate some help.
My custom events are called '1841 census', '1851 census'........
'1901 census' etc, so the data references I am trying to check are in the form
EVEN-1841_CENSUS.DATE, but I can't find a way to build a 'variable' name
within the loops. Ideally I would check the standard census event first, then if that
returns a null, repeat the check against the relevant custom event.
