Some while back I sent a message to the List advising that David Dimbleby
was filming in Lavenham for a new TV series.
At last it will arrive on our screens this weekend.
'How We Built Britain', I think that part 1 on Sunday evening at 9 pm on
BBC1 will have the scenes of Suffolk as it is titled, 'The East, a New
Dawn'. The listings mentions visiting Ely and Cambridge amongst other
Billed in The Radio Times as 'good solid popular history . . . lots of
sumptuous buildings, stunning scenery and pretty much like the earlier
series 'A Picture of Britain' shown in 2005'.
Incidentally a new series of 'Coast' begins on BBC2 at 8pm same evening with
visits to Shetland to Orkney. They may visit the coast of Suffolk in later
programmes in this series ?
My apologies to all our Listers overseas who will not be able to receive
these programmes, you may eventually get them - although we have had a long
wait for the Dimbleby programme.
Best regards, Pat ...
