Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
A little while ago you mentioned there being photos of Upper Forge
and pool, and I wondered if it would be possible to have them emailed
to me. I appreciate you are probably very busy, but if you have a
minute one day, I would be really grateful to you.
As my family were living there, and as bits of history come out about
them, I will collate stories and send them to you as it may add meat
to the bones of your own research of the area.
eg. Our Nathaniel Bowen, who lived at Upper Forge with his father
Nathaniel and mother Martha, got terribly drunk one night after being
paid, and as a dare tried to cross the river in order to get home in
time for work the next day. He was of course carried away and
drowned. So The Severn Valley Railway lost an employee that day.
I have a copy of the newspaper report.
This is the kind of thing that makes research interesting eh!?
