My gggg grandfather Edward SOULSBY was a painter/glider at Coalport China
Company from about 1825 until his death in 1882. He originated from Stella,
near Ryton, Durham. He married Elizabeth YORK at Dawly Magna in 1831. They
had a number of children including William George SOULSBY who was my ggg
William was born in 1841 in Madeley. He married Martha PRICE at Madeley in
1862. He was a china painter. William and his family moved to
Stoke-on-Trent about 1875.
I would love to hear from anyone with connections and I would love to learn
more about Coalport China before they were moved to Stoke-on-Trent.
