I've just found my great-grandfather had a large number of Kershaw cousins in York in
early 20C. My Mum only knew of Walter and his wife Edith (née Sawdon), who made ice-cream
and brought up my great aunt Nellie Flinn after her father (Walter Kershaw's maternal
uncle, Walter Flinn) was killed in an accident at William Wright Dock, Hull, in 1908.
However, I also find Walter's siblings:
Joseph Kershaw (1881-1918) – not sure whether he ever married.
Elizabeth Kershaw (b. 1886) – she m. either Bertie KENT or John BARKER
Annie Kershaw (b. 1888) – not sure if she married or not.
Francis Kershaw (1890-1957) – he m. either Lily HARRIS or Alice FAWCETT
Samuel Kershaw (1896-1929) – he m. Florence DAVISON
Nora(h) Victoria Kershaw (1897-1977) – she m. David H MURRAY
There may be others, but these are the main ones.
Their parents are Samuel Kershaw and Mary Ellen Flinn. I have a lot of material on Mary
Ellen's ancestry, going back to the West Midlands in 17C.
