Amy Annie Underwood (b. abt 1877) married Alfred Brumpton in 1897. He was
from Lincolnshire but they made they home in Yorkshire. They had a son named
Walter (b. Jun Q 1904) and possibly a daughter, Gladys (born Mar Q 1898
died Sep Q 1898). Annie died in 1914 and Alfred remarried.
George William Underwood (b. 15 Sep 1879) married Florence Rhymes in 1901.
They immigrated to Alberta, Canada in 1908, had seven children and their
descendants are in Canada and the U.S.
Ethel Rhoda Underwood (b. Sep Q 1883) married Arthur Herbert Hunt in 1902.
We know they had one son John who married Sylvia. The family story says John
and Sylvia died of TB near the end or after WWII. We don’t know if there
were any children.
Alfred Ernest Underwood (b.19 Feb 1885) immigrated to Alberta, Canada in
1907. His fiancee, Emily Fisher, came over with George and Florence in 1908.
Fred and Emily had two children. Their descendants are in Canada.
Percy John Underwood (b. 20 Nov 1886) immigrated to Alberta, Canada with his
brother Fred in 1907. Percy married Annie Elizabeth Layden in 1922. They
settled on Vancouver Island , British Columbia, Canada. We think they had two
daughters. One might be named Dorothy.
Beatrice Underwood (b Dec Q. 1888) married Frederick Winn in 1910. We have
a picture of Beatrice and little Nowland. It would have be sent to George
and Florence Underwood in Canada after they immigrated in 1908. On FreeBMD, I
have not been able to find anything like Nowland. So what happened to
Beatrice and Frederick Winn and family?
Leonard Underwood was born about 1891 and died 4 Jan 1905
Florry Underwood is listed on the 1901 census as 8 years old. I found a
possible marriage for Florrie on freeBMD Mar Q 1913 to a Richard Carter. I have
