My GG Grandmother was Sarah Ann GREENWOOD, born in Beverley c1825. Sarah lost the
GREENWOOD name when she first married John CAWKWELL in 1847, followed by my GG Grandfather
John RAWLING in 1859, both in Hull/Sculcoates. Sarah Ann GREENWOOD was the illegitimate
daughter of Frances Spencer GREENWOOD and several searches, including original parish
registers in Beverley, have failed to find the baptism of Frances Spencer GREENWOOD c1791.
Although without proof I haven't added this to my tree, I believe that Frances was the
daughter of Christopher GREENWOOD and Ann SPENCER, who married in Beverley in 1777. I can
find no children in Beverley on the IGI of Christopher and Ann.
